Yokohama Bridge & Seaport

Yokohama city is located at the seashore that has been a busy seaport since 100 years ago. The Yokohama Bridge is a representative architecture. Here, I found the biggest Chinatown compare to other chinatowns that I have visited in the world (will post some pic taken there next time). I first visited Yokohama city in Dec 06 and subsequent few times in Q4 2007 and this year. Of course, the visits are all for leisure and sight seeing :)

For a few times, my view of the bridge is always from the shore. Last week, I have a chance to take a closer view of the bridge. Instead of taking a train to Narita Airport, I took a Limousine bus. There are many factories and heavy industries located nearby the bridge. It is indeed a meaningful journey to see the presence around the bridge. The photos below were all taken from the bus

1) Before approaching the bridge and while on the bridge.
2) While on the bridge.

I will post some photos taken in Yokohama city (a few talls buildings that can be seen from the pic above).

2Day1 night trip to Shinjuku Japan

I have posted the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building visited last Saturday but I was too busy to post the city view of Shinjuku. It is a very popular place that one should not miss if you go to Japan. I guess this area is the biggest shopping heaven. Just not far from Takashimaya (Click on the pic you can see it, pic with a big tall clock tower), there are 2 LV and Tiffany & Co. boutiques!

The photos below show the night and day view of one of the streets in Shinjuku. The photo would tell you more than my wordings :D

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

I extended my stay in Japan till next Tuesday. Today is weekend and I have decided to visit Shinjuku, Tokyo. After travelled for about 90 min by local train, I arrived my destination.

The first tourist spot that I have visited was the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Surprisingly, I can enter the building up to level 45 at no cost (FREE)! It is opened from 9am to 11pm! I just realize that Japan is also one of the candidates for Olympics in year 2016. (Panel info displayed in front of the building). The first photo taken was a shot from some distance. The 2nd photo is right in front of the entrace into the towers. The construction looks as if Rome-style building is opposite the entrace. You can go to left tower or right tower. I went to the left tower. There is a restaurant located at level 45. >5000 yen/person (SGD75) for high tea only... :S

It took about 45 second by lift from ground floor to 45th floor. The two pictures below were taken at 45th floor. Seems like my minicity le :D Do you see an array of solar panel in one of the buildings (click on the photo to spot it)?

Sashimi Dinner

After a long day of hard work, I bought myself a few types of fresh sashimi and scallops. 3 types of Tuna was selected (orange, red and light orange with fat stripe). The light brown tuna with fat stripe are the most expensive one. I do not know the name of the transparent fish :P
Not to miss, Miso soup and green tea after meal :D

Crab Bento & Japanese dessert

I am a crab lover. But I seldom eat crab in Japan for a reason:
- I do not know how to order (bcoz I cannot speak Japanese language) in the restaurant even dishes with crab meat are available :D

Fortunately, my colleagues always order different kind of crab dishes during "alcohol party" (a meal which the attendees consume a lot of beer, wine and hard liquor). I found this crab bento in Sogo of Yokohama. This is the 4th time I bought this crab bento. :)
I bought a Japanese dessert too. It is like a pan cake, but it tastes like "Ban Chan Kueh" (can only be found in SG and M'sia). There are peanuts in Ban Chan Kueh but it is either red bean or white lotus paste (I guess) in the pan-cake. The taste is "so-so" for me. You should try as you may have different view on it...

First experience on SIA A380 Airbus

My first experience on A380 was on 21 Jun, followed by 28 Jun to and fro between Sg and Japan. I like the entertainment system: big screen is GREAT! Now you can prepare your word document and ppt slides on the plane, can you see LAN port and USB port on the right? Just plug your USB thumb drive to save the documents.

Again I have another chance to travel on this Airbus tonight and return on 12 Jul. Are you tempted to try? :P

I forgot to mention, there are upper and lower decks for passengers travel in economy/business class . If you want to have better window view, the upper deck should be your choice. From the photo (click the photo for bigger view), can you see that there are 2 paths connecting the the plane on the right. Also you can see the luggages are being removed from the plane compartment.
